Le Vitel Etonnè
Le Vitel Etonné
Vitel Etonné was born in 2001 from Luisa Pandolfi’s passion for wine and good food.
The name of the restaurant is based on a word pun between the French term étonné (surprised, amazed) which refers to the expression of the veal in our logo and the name of a culinary specialty of Piedmont, the vitel tonné, a delicacy always present in our daily menu.
The name and the logo of the restaurant were created by Bob Noto well before the opening of the Vitel Etonné. Bob knew how to interpret Luisa’s enthusiasm with genius, inventing this playful and unique signature to which he added amusing versions over the years.
The Chef Max chooses seasonal produce from our loyal suppliers. Slow Food presidia, Fassone meat, Cascina Mana eggs, mountain cheeses, fresh vegetables to name but a few of the talented producers and products, carefully selected to create traditional recipes from the cuisine of Piedmont and beyond.
The “Vitello” as the restaurant is affectionately named by the most loyal customers, is located in the very heart of Turin, only a few steps away from tourist sites such as the Palazzo Reale, the Egyptian Museum, the Museum of the Risorgimento and the National Cinema Museum. The restaurant is also easily accessible from the Porta Nuova and Porta Susa railway stations with the public transport.
The kitchen is open from 12:00 to 23:30. From a working lunch to a break between visits to the splendid museums, all day long you can enjoy a serving of “Vitello Tonnato” or “Tajarin” pasta accompanied by a glass of wine, surrounded by selected bottles and in company of tourists from all over the world.
The beautiful 19th century cellar, with its spherical arches and exposed bricks, houses about 300 labels, mainly Italian, with a prevalence of Piedmontese reds. Each brand is alternately offered by the glass.
